Prime Minister Narendra Modi deserves all praise for his dynamic leadership as he is successfully steering the Country amid all troubles and difficulties. Decade long dilemma of Articles 370 and 35 (A), the Ayodhya Issue and all other thorny problems have been solved effectively. He has successfully brought the Nation out of Covid-19 crisis. This was stated by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, while addressing a public meeting at Sihunta under Bhatiyat Assembly Constituency today.

Chief Minister said that the whole country is following Modi without any doubt as they have strong believe in his dynamic leadership. It is due to strenuous efforts of the Prime Minister that PPE Kits, which were not manufactured in the country before the attack of Covid-19, today 5 lakhs PPE kits a day are being prepared in the country. It was due to vibrant and energetic leadership of Modi that the people of Bihar again voted in favour of NDA. He urged the people of the State to take all precautions in the fight against Corona Virus as vaccine still is not available.

Earlier, he laid foundation stones of various developmental works at Sihunta Chowgan costing Rs. 48.77 crore. These works included up-gradation of Naini Khadd to Samleu Road at a cost of 24.62 crore and Samote to Dramnallah Road at Rs. 9.38 crore, construction of 33.50 meters span steel bridge over Kaned Nallah to Naini Khadd Chuhan Road worth Rs. 3.21 crore and 25 meters span RCC box girder bridge over Maled Khadd on Chowari Kainthaly Road at Rs. 1.89 crore, remodeling of Flow Irrigation Scheme: Chakki Khadv Raipur Kuhl worth Rs. 4.25 crore and remodeling of Flow Irrigation Scheme Khaggal, Sihunta at Rs. 5.42 crore.

All stranded Himachalis in various parts of the country including Kota, Bangluru, Goa, Chandigarh and Delhi were brought back to the State safely by the State Govt. About 2.5 lakh people were tested and quarantined accordingly before sending to their homes. A special session of Himachal Vidhan Sabha was convened at the behest of the State Congress Party. But, it could not present or discuss any concrete issue on the floor of the house. He asked the Congress party not to indulge in petty politics while the country and State was passing through such a crisis.

Chief Minister appealed the people to follow all SOPs and not to indulge in negligence to keep this virus at bay. Covid-19 has affected the pace of development in the State. But, now no slip would be allowed and all the officers and employees have been asked to gird up their lions to achieve all the set targets without fail.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur apologized the people of Bhatiyat constituency as he could not visit the constituency earlier due to unavoidable circumstances since Lok Sabha elections. He thanked the people for reposing confidence in him by giving a huge share of votes to the BJP candidate in these elections. He detailed various developmental works executed in the last three years in Bhatiyat Assembly Constituency under his Government. He thanked the people of Bhatiyat for contributing liberally towards Chief Minister Relief Fund by donating Rs. 49 lakhs in the fight against Covid-19. He said that various developmental works worth Rs. 148 crore, PWD works worth Rs. 185 crores and IPH works of Rs. 287 crores which were being executed in the Bhatiyat Assembly Constituency.

Jai Ram Thakur counted several schemes launched by his Government in the State. He said that the first decision taken by his Govt. was regarding old age pension. He also briefed about Grihini Suvidha Yojna, ‘Sahara’ and Him Care. He appealed the people to vote prudentially in the upcoming Panchayati Raj Elections.

Chief Minister announced up-gradation of PHC, Samote to Community Health Centre, Govt. Middle Schools, Kakroti Ghatta and Sarog to Govt. High Schools, Dadhu to Govt. Senior Secondary School. He also announced opening of Fire Brigade Sub-Station in the Bhatiyat Assembly Constituency and to sympathetically consider over proposals of opening of SDPO Office, Police Station and Chowki at different places. He announced PWD Division and examination of demand for opening of IPH Division after rationalization for Bhatiyat constituency. He said that the demand for up-gradation of sub-bus depot Chowari would be examined for making it a full bus depot. He said that a Civil Court would be opened at Chowari after finding justification and completion of all codal formalities.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur distributed Pattal and Dona (leaf plates and cups) making machines to four Self Help Groups (SHGs) of Chamba district. These machines were given to these SHGs under the auspices of Department of Environment, Science and Technology under the self-employment generation activities initiatives. CM also distributed cheques to nine beneficiaries for construction of houses under Pradhan Mantri Aawas Yojna (PMAY).

Forest Minister Rakesh Pathania urged the people to create history in Himachal Pradesh by re-electing the Jai Ram Govt. in the upcoming State Elections in 2022. He jibed at the Congress party saying that it was without any leadership in Himachal as many had been trying to head the party.

MP Lok Sabha Kishan Kapoor while addressing the gathering congratulated the people for the victory of NDA in Bihar Elections. He said that Rs. 196 crore had been sanctioned for Mandi-Pathankot NH and the work would be resumed after Diwali festival.

Speaking on the occasion, local MLA Vikram Singh Jariyal briefed about various developmental activities being carried out in the Bhatiyat Constituency. He also voiced various demands of the people on the occasion.

Earlier, Divya Chakshu, BJP Mandal President, Bhatiyat Constituency welcomed the Chief Minister and other dignitaries.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur called on Union Railways Minister Piyush Goel at New Delhi today.

Chief Minister requested the Union Minister for hundred percent centre government funding for the strategically important Bhanupali-Bilaspur-Leh railway line. He said that state has limited funds and requested for complete funding by Centre as the railway line is very important for state as well as country.

Chief Minister also urged for expansion of rail network in the state and identifying new routes for railway lines. He said that so far roads are the major mode of connectivity in the state however state government is making efforts to strengthen air connectivity also. He said that expansion of rail network is a long pending demand of the state and with the construction of Bhanupali- Bilaspur- Leh railway line connectivity will be further strengthened in the state.

Jai Ram Thakur also requested for support from centre for setting up of Bulk Drug Pharma Park in Una district. He said that Himachal Pradesh is already a leader in drug production and is a pharmaceutical hub of the country and added that this project would be another feather in the cap of the state and would generate employment opportunities thereby boosting the industrial sector.

Governor Bandaru Dattatraya said the State Government is working strongly in the fight against Corona pandemic in the State and many social organizations were also doing remarkable work in this direction. He said that such organizations and societies should be encouraged.

He was speaking on the occasion of honouring Corona warriors through Lakshmi Narayan Welfare Society at Raj Bhavan, today.

The Governor said there has been a lot of change in these eight months and people were working cautiously and were now prepared to fight the pandemic. He appealed the people to take preventive measure against Covid-19 during the upcoming festive season and strictly follow the guidelines issued by the Government. He said that no laxity should be allowed until the vaccine is out and urged the people to wear masks and maintain physical distancing. He said that the corona pandemic has taught the lesson of adopting healthy habits such as maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, practicing yoga along with nutritious and balanced diet. He said that the pandemic has also brought a change in the lifestyle of the people.

The Governor appreciated the efforts of the Society and said that such efforts would also inspire others. He hoped that the society would remain associated with the work of social service in future also.

Ravi Kant, President, Shri Lakshmi Narayan Welfare Society welcomed and honoured the Governor on the occasion and detailed about the social activities of the Society.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur launched the website of Atal Medical and Research University, Ner Chowk Mandi through video conferencing from Shimla today.

Chief Minister said that this University was established on 23rd June, 2018 by the Himachal Pradesh University of Health Sciences Act, 2017 and was named Atal Medical and Research University as a mark of respect to the former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 2019. He said that the main objective of setting up of this University was to provide quality health care and education, to produce the best health care personnel, provide single platform for health educationists of the state and to improve and standardize health education in the process of teaching, learning and evaluation system.

Jai Ram Thakur said that the University aimed at establishing uniformity in standards of education in all faculties of Health Sciences including the Modern System of Medicine, Homeopathy and various paramedical and para dental disciplines such as Nursing, Medical laboratory technology, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy and Speech therapy. He said that it also aimed at enhancing the quality of such education and consistently aiming to modernize, improve and achieve the highest standards of academic excellence at all levels.

The Chief Minister said that counselling of NEET would be held in the campus of this University from next year. He said that the University would go a long way in research in the field of medical education. He said that the University would also help in better coordination between the medical colleges of the State.

Jai Ram Thakur said that Himachal Pradesh was one of the best States of the country in health parameters. He said that presently six medical colleges in government sector and one medical college in private sector were functioning in the State and are providing best professionals to the health institutions. He said that AIIMS was also coming up in Bilaspur district.

He said that State Government would provide all possible help to strengthen this Medical University. 102 bighas of land identified for expansion of this university would be transferred soon to facilitate functioning of the University.

Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal while welcoming the Chief Minister said that the University would prove a milestone in the field of medical education and research. He also thanked the Chief Minister for providing grant in aid of Rs. 3.5 crore for this University.

MLA Balh Inder Singh Gandhi welcomed the Chief Minister and said that it was a matter of pride for people of Balh Vidhan Sabha area that Medical University was established in the area.

Vice Chancellor of the University Dr. Surender Kashyap said that the website would provide informative and required information to the seekers on the click of a button. He thanked the Chief Minister for envisaging keen interest in strengthening the University.

Shin Bong-Kil, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea called on Governor Bandaru Dattatraya in Raj Bhavan today and discussed gamut of issues for strengthening Indo-Korean bilateral relations.

Dattatraya apprised the Ambassador of rich and diverse history of Himachal Pradesh and its rapid development in every sector, be it human resource development, tourism, agriculture or industrialization. He said that Himachal is a tourism state and every year millions of tourists visit the state. Korea and Himachal could collaborate in the tourism sector, he added. He said that the culture of both Korea and Himachal were quite advanced and both of them can work jointly in this direction. “We can make our relationship stronger through Cultural exchange programs”, said the Governor.

He said that Himachal Pradesh and the Republic of Korea could collaborate in the field of tourism development, industrial investment, agriculture, environment, technology and skill development in particular as well as cultural exchange.

The Ambassador thanked the Governor for sparing time for the meeting. He said that both the Republic of Korea and India could work together in revamping regional connectivity and facilitating people to people contact.

The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr Chang Ho Seung, Minister-Counsellor and Ms Kang Yeon Soo, Second Secretary in the Embassy.

Later, Secretary of Governor Rakesh Kanwar also apprised the Ambassador about the heritage building of Raj Bhavan.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said here today that in order to safeguard passengers from COVID-19 infection during forthcoming festival season state government hasreleased Rs. five crore from HP SDMA COVID-19 State Disaster Response Fund toHimachal Road Transport Corporation for sanitization of buses and Corporation institutions.He said that this assistance would also be helpful for providing thermal guns and other safety equipments to avoid COVID-19 infection to the employees of HRTC who travel in buses. Besides, State Government hasalso provided an assistance of Rs. eightcrore from HP SDMA COVID-19 State Disaster Response Fund to HRTC for the safetyof passengers and to cope up the losses borne by the Corporation duringlockdown period. He saidthat HRTC has started night bus services and keeping in view demand of local people and festive season additionalbuses would be plied. -0-

Chief Minister said that in the present global scenario, the global food security was an opportunity for the State to establish a global network and trading platform for export of organic and natural resources of the State. He said that organic produces particularly wool, milk and meat if properly and aggressively marketed could go a long way in strengthening the economy of the farmers.

Chairman Woolfed Trilok Kapoor said that Action Plan for Exports of Organic Produces with Polybionic Technology, however, needs the establishment of a dedicated team. He said that the Woolfed was planning to organize a Global Village Festival for the farmers in the State.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated and laid foundation stones of developmental projects worth Rs 80.60 crore in Bhoranj Vidhan Sabha area of Hamirpur district.

Chief Minister inaugurated hostel for scheduled caste students at ITI Bhoranj constructed by spending an amount of Rs 1.95 crore.

Jai Ram Thakur laid foundation stones of strengthening and upgradation of Lagwalti-Bamsan lift drinking water scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission to be completed by spending an amount of Rs 45.41 crore, upgradation and strengthening of Malian-Sadriyana lift water supply scheme to be completed at a cost of Rs. 12.40 crore and Rs 1.87 crore lift water supply scheme Amroh. He also laid foundation stones of Samlah-Dasmal via Tohu road to be completed by spending Rs 3.12 crore, Matlana-Buhana road of Rs 8.34 crore, Tikkar-Khatrian-Dimmi road upto Village Jambehad of Rs 1.83 crore, bridge over Chanth Khad of Rs 2.50 crore and Bus Stand at Bhoranj to be constructed at a cost of Rs 3.20 crore.

While addressing public meeting at Government Degree College Bhoranj ground at Kanjian, Chief Minister said the Corona pandemic has forced us to completely change our life style. He said that use of face mask and maintaining social distancing has become vital to check spread of this virus. He said that the public meeting in Bhoranj Vidhan Sabha area is the first public meeting being held by him after a gap of about seven and a half months due to the Corona pandemic.

Chief Minister said that strengthening and upgradation of Lagwalti-Bamsan lift drinking water scheme would provide better drinking water facilities to 144 villages and 215 habitations of the area, thereby benefitting about 64,000 people of the area. He said that Malian-Sadriyana lift water supply scheme on completion would benefit over 23,000 people of about 67 habitations of the area. He said that construction of bus stand at Bhoranj would meet the long pending demand of the area.

Jai Ram Thakur said that special focus has been laid on development of Hamirpur district. He said that a budget provision of Rs 80 crore has been made for construction and maintenance of roads in Hamirpur district. He said that the Government was ensuring the pace of development does not get affected due to the pandemic. He said that all possible precautions must be taken to check spread of the pandemic. He said that even today use of mask and maintaining proper social distancing was only remedy to save ourselves for this virus.

Chief Minister said that the opposition leaders were doing politics even during this crisis. He said that they made a hue and cry that the State Government was doing nothing to bring back lakhs of Himachalis stranded in different parts of the country. Now when the Government has brought home about 2.50 lakh people of the State from various parts of the country, the same Congress leaders were alleging that the State Government has threatened the lives of lakhs of Himachalis by bringing back these people, he added.

Jai Ram Thakur said that it was due to the strong and able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the dream of crores of Indians has been realized, with Bhumi Pujan of Lord Ram Temple at Ayodhya performed by Prime Minister and magnificent Lord Ram Temple would be constructed within two-three years. He said that not only this, several other historic decisions such as abrogation of Article 370, Triple Talaq etc. had been taken by the Government. He said that the whole world was recognizing India as a ‘World Power’, but the opposition leaders were finding a fault even in this. He said that today the country was producing over 4.50 lakh PPE kits per day and exporting it to several other countries.

Chief Minister said that it was a matter of pride that Himachal Pradesh had become the first smoke free State of the country as about 2.80 lakh free gas connections have been provided to the needy households. He said that HIMCARE scheme has been launched to provide rupees five lakh health care cover to the families not covered under the Ayushman Bharat Yojna of the Union Government. He said that Rs 3000 per month were being provided to families with chronic ill patients under the Sahara Yojana. He said that Mukhyamantri Swawlamban Yojna has been launched to provide financial assistance to the youth to start their self employment ventures.

Jai Ram Thakur said that Rs 3300 crore Atal Tunnel Rohtang was the biggest gift of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the people of the country in general and people of the State in particular. He said that it was the vision and dream of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, which was possible due to the strong will power of the present Prime Minister. He directed the officers to ensure time bound completion of all the projects foundation stones of which were laid by him today.

Earlier at his arrival at Kanjian helipad, Chief Minister was accorded a rousing welcome by the local leaders and people of the area.

Jal Shakti, Revenue and Horticulture Minister Mahender Singh Thakur said that the present State Government headed by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur in the very first Cabinet of the State Government reduced the age for availing the benefits of old age pension without any income limit from 80 to 70 years. He said that this decision has benefitted lakhs of old people of the State. He said that Chief Minister has today laid foundation stones of three water supply schemes for the area worth about Rs 60 crore. He said that a World Bank funded Rs 1688 crore Horticulture project has been approved for lower areas of the State. He said that the State Government was also endeavouring to simplify revenue laws for benefit of common man.

Industries and Transport Minister Bikram Singh said the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur belongs to a humble background and understands the developmental needs of people of the State. He said the bus stand at Bhoranj would be completed within stipulated time period. He also urged the party workers to make policies and programmes of the Central and State Government reach the people.

Local MLA Kamlesh Kumari while welcoming the Chief Minister said the people of Bhoranj area were fortunate that Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has always remained considerate towards developmental needs of people of the area. She said the last visit of Chief Minister to the constituency on 22nd December, 2018 was a historic one, as most of the announcements made by him have been fulfilled.
